WFXT-TV FOX 25 morning anchor/reporter Melissa Mahan is leaving the station she has announced.

"I can finally let you all know, I'm leaving FOX25 in Dec. I've had an amazing time in Boston, but it's time I head home to CA."

Melissa joined FOX 25 News as weekend anchor of the Saturday and Sunday editions of "FOX25 News at 6pm," "FOX25 News at 10pm" and the Sunday edition of "FOX25 News at 11pm." More recently, she has been one of the early morning news anchors on the "FOX 25 Morning News."

In August 2013 she made some national headlines (including the Late Show with David Letterman) after a video of a live shot where her IFB failed went viral (you can watch that below.)

Prior to working for FOX 25, Melissa was an anchor/reporter at Hearst station KOAT-TV ABC 7 in Albuquerque, NM.

Melissa has also worked as a anchor/reporter at WLNE-TV ABC 6 in Providence, RI and at WJCT-TV ABC 8 in Grand Junction, CO. In addition, she was also the affiliate relations administrator at FSN Bay Area (now Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area) in San Francisco, CA.

A 2002 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Melissa is moving back to her home state.

Melissa has not announced what she will do in California, but she says to "stay tuned!"

Her last day at FOX 25 will be sometime in December.
