Desiree Wiley will be joining NECN as a reporter and anchor, New England One has learned.

Desiree Wiley will be joining NECN as a reporter and anchor, New England One has learned. It is not known whether she will have a role in the soon-to-be-launched NBC Boston.

Desiree previously worked at WKBW-TV ABC 7 in Buffalo, New York, where she started in August 2013. She was first a traffic and entertainment reporter before transitioning to news. Desiree also filled in on the anchor desk for various newscasts.

A native of Lockport, New York, Desiree graduated from Lockport Senior High School in June 2009. She studied journalism at Buffalo State College and at the age of 20 received her Bachelor's degree in journalism with a concentration in political science and economics. Wiley was an economics tutor and a contributing author in "The World of Economics."

She's an advocate for continuing education through her personal work and development of "Knowledge is Power: Keeping teens off the streets and in school." Wiley also has experience working in higher education as an Admissions Advisor.

A performer, Desiree gas been dancing since the age of nine and has experience teaching and choreographing. She's spent years developing her presentation skills by competing in various scholarship competitions. Wiley has held four titles through the Miss America Organization and was named first-runner up at Miss New York in 2014 and 2015.
