Rob Eicher has joined Boston's WHDH-TV NBC 7 as a freelance meteorologist.

Rob joins WHDH from WFXT-TV FOX 25 where he was most recently also a freelance meteorologist.

He joined FOX 25 from WJZY-TV FOX 46 in Charlotte, NC where he had been the chief meteorologist since 2013. The move to Boston reunited Rob with his wife Stephanie Coueignoux, who joined FOX 25 in August as a reporter from WSOC-TV in Charlotte.

Prior to WJZY, Rob spent 4 years as a weekend meteorologist at WOFL-TV FOX 35 in Orlando, FL. He's also worked at WKMG-TV and Central Florida News 13 (now News 13), both in Orlando; and got his start at WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD.

During his time in Orlando, Rob became the first meteorologist in Central Florida to be designated a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society (AMS). He also holds the National Weather Association (NWA) Seal of Approval. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Broadcast Meteorology for the AMS.

Outside of television, Rob has taught meteorology courses to college students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL.

Rob's first day on-air at WHDH was on January 31.
