Jason Brewer has joined WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston as a meteorologist for the FOX 25 Weekend Morning News, New England One has learned.
Jason joins his wife, Vanessa Welch, who joined FOX 25 as the weekday evening news anchor in December 2014. He comes to FOX 25 from Hearst station WESH-TV NBC 2 in Orlando, FL where he spent nine years, most recently as the noon and 4pm meteorologist.
Before joining WESH, Jason was a meteorologist at KPRC-TV NBC 2 in Houston, TX. He has also worked as a meteorologist at WTVD-TV ABC 11 in Raleigh, NC; and as chief meteorologist at KOSA-TV CBS 7 in Odessa, TX.
A native of Dallas, TX, Jason is a 1995 graduate of Baylor University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in earth science with minors in environmental studies and Spanish. In 1995, he earned his Bachelor's degree in meteorology from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
One of Jason's proudest achievements was covering Hurricane Ophelia when it struck the Outer Banks of North Carolina. “Experiencing a category one hurricane gave me a glimpse of what the largest storms on Earth can unleash. Helping people understand the effects the storm would have on their property and their own lives was very rewarding,” he said.
