Bob Halloran, who has served as the Saturday news anchor and weekend sports anchor (and in various other roles at WCVB-TV for more than a decade,) has been hired as a full-time sports reporter. He fills the sports department vacancy left by Mike Dowling, who left the station after 28 years in February. Bob will also continue to anchor the Saturday evening news with Pam Cross.

Bob began his tenure as weekend sports anchor at WCVB in January 2003. Before joining WCVB, he was at ESPNews where he spent three years as an anchor and writer for ESPN.com. Bob also worked at Boston's FOX 25 as a weekend sports anchor for three years, and spent five years at WPRI-TV in Providence as Sports Director and four years at WCVX-TV in Hyannis, Mass., first as Sports Director then moving to News Director.

Bob began his career at "Cape 11 Alive," then a Cablevision station, where he served as a news reporter and anchor.

Bob is the recipient of a New England Emmy Award and two honors from the Associated Press.

A graduate of Washington & Lee, Bob lives in the Boston area with his wife, Eileen Curran and their daughter Grace. He has three sons, Sean, Daniel and Liam.
