1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
I’m still rocking an iPhone 5! The battery life, or lack thereof, kills me but I’m holding out for the next version! We’ll see how much longer that lasts...

Apps: Pretty much every single news app that exists! Shocker right? I have each one set for push notifications as well so I can stay in the know 24/7. When I want to let my hair down I go to my Dubsmash app or zone out for hours on Pinterest. I can’t forget my Instagram. It has pretty much replaced my Facebook usage entirely. I love photography and pictures say more than words ever could.

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
Favorite - Health news. The studies and findings that come out always fascinate me. Plus, I have to think that the more research and development, the better the chances of finding cures.

Least- celebrity gossip. It rarely piques my interest.

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
Travel blogging seems pretty awesome, doesn’t it? ;)

I had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian as a child. My love for animals seems to grow more and more each day so being in a position where I could provide care for them would have been rewarding. These days I get my fix with ‘pet of the week’ segments at work where we try to find forever homes for our furry friends and with my growing number of pets.

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
I was a huge fan of Darkwing Duck. Also, Barney (I know, not a cartoon), but I could watch that friendly purple dinosaur for hours.

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Truthfully? Napping! With the schedule I have, 30 free minutes spent not napping is 30 minutes wasted ;) I do also enjoy being outdoors, and trying to stay somewhat active. It’s sad, but I’ve started counting my steps on a daily basis. I’ve got a lot more walking to do!

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I’m lucky, I’ve been able to travel to many amazing places in my life so far. I’d like to get to Southeast Asia some day, Australia too. Long flights from the eastern coast of the U.S. but they’re on the list!! I often say this and genuinely mean it: there is no place I wouldn’t go at least once.

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
Living? The Dalai Lama. I imagine we would have quite a lengthy conversation where I would be asking a lot of questions. Deceased? Albert Einstein. Same expectation applies.

8. Do you collect anything?
Just photographs and memories :)

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
Currently (they change often): Glass Animals- Toes, alt-J- Left Hand Free , Alabama Shakes- Don’t Wanna Fight.

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?
I always go back to this one. “It’s not he who has little but he who wants more that is poor.”

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Taking on my wild work schedule. It requires making sacrifices and compromises but it has taught me a lot about self-discipline and the value of time.
