The Hollywood Reporter reports that Anderson Cooper has purchased a historic mansion in Litchfield, Connecticut.

The CNN anchor paid roughly $4 million, a source close to the situation told THR, for the more than 10,000-square-foot Tudor residence, known as Rye House, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The 18-room, 10 bedroom house also has a swimming pool, tennis court, hot tub and iron-gated entrance, according to a brochure for the house.

The house was built in 1908 and designed by architect Wilson Eyre.

The former owners, Karen and Marc Shaw, reportedly put their house on the market for $8.495 million in 2009, with Karen telling The Wall Street Journal that the home was empty most of the time because their four children were competitive snowboarders.

Seems like Anderson got quite the deal.

Welcome to Connecticut, Anderson!
