James R. Conschafter, a corporate vice president of Richmond, VA-based Media General Inc., has been named chairman of the NBC Affiliates Board.
The board represents all of the NBC-affiliated stations that are not NBC-owned stations.
Conschafter has been Media General’s vice president for broadcast markets since 2012, with oversight responsibility for one-third of the company’s 31 television stations.
From 2010 to 2012, he served as president and market leader for the company’s Virginia-Tennessee group of television stations, newspapers and associated digital operations. He joined Media General in 2000 when the company acquired Spartan Communications, where he had served as general manager.
