Reporter Josh Brogadir has left New England Cable News in Boston, New England One has learned.

"After 7 years, signing off NECN" he said on Twitter. "So grateful for the opportunity to share the stories of New England with you. Thanks to all, next adventure soon."

He did not immediately say where he was going.

Josh joined NECN in 2008 as a general assignment reporter, and was also a fill-in anchor. Starting in 2012, he joined NBCUniversal sister station Comcast SportsNet New England as a freelance sports anchor.

Prior to NECN, Josh spent two years as a reporter at WNEP-TV in Scranton, PA, where he won an Associated Press award for investigative journalism. He's also worked as a reporter at WHOI-TV in Peoria, IL; and KREX-TV in Grand Junction, CO. Before his work on-air, Josh was an associate producer at KNSD-TV in San Diego, CA.

Josh didn't originally start his career in television news - his original track was education. After college, he moved to the Boston area and taught sixth grade social studies in the two way bilingual program at Walsh Middle School in Framingham, MA. He also taught in the Framingham Adult English as a Second Language program and coached 7th and 8th grade football.

After three years as a teacher, and training as a vice principal for a few months, Josh decided to switch careers and move to San Diego, where he joined KNSD and also did on-site promotions for a radio station.

A native of Woodbridge, CT, Josh is a 1999 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor's degree in anthropology and Latin American studies.
