Erin Kennedy is the morning news anchor at WBBM-TV CBS 2 in Chicago, where she has been since 2014.
Erin joined CBS 2 from WKYC-TV in Cleveland, OH where she was an anchor and reporter for three years. Before that, Erin spent 6 years at WPRI-TV/WNAC-TV in Providence, RI. She first joined the station as a weekend anchor, and was later promoted to anchor the 5:30pm newscast on WPRI, and the 10pm newscast on WNAC. Additionally, she was the producer and anchor of "Webcast en Español" – an online newscast in Spanish.
Erin started her career as a weekend anchor and reporter for KAMC-TV in Lubbock, TX. She was promoted 6 months later to weekday anchor and reporter of the morning newscast. She also guest co-hosted the Spanish language show "Si Se Puede."
Although Erin was born and raised in Colorado, her parents and family are from Rhode Island. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and earned a double degree in English and Spanish and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

My personal phone is a sometimes functioning iPhone 4. My work phone is an iPhone 52. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
Favorite: Informing our viewers about groups/communities/organizations that they might not yet have discovered and could stand to learn from, like girl gamers, homeless LGBTQ, etc.Least Favorite: anything where I have to say the word “rural.” It’s really hard to eloqute!
