Todd Piro is an anchor for NBC Connecticut Today at WVIT-TV NBC 30 in Hartford, CT. You can also see him occasionally filling in as news anchor at MSNBC in New York City.

Todd joined NBC Connecticut in 2012 from KPSP-CD CBS 2 in Palm Springs, CA where he was the morning news anchor. Prior to his television career, he spent almost five years as a litigation lawyer and recruitment coordinator for Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, a law firm in Los Angeles.

Todd is a 2000 graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH where he studied government. In 2003, he achieved a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law.

1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
 Personal - iPhone 4; Work - iPhone 5s. I am not a big app guy - mostly just social media apps.

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
 Favorite - Government and politics + soldier home comings

 Least Favorite - Kardashians, et al.

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
 Lawyer

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
 He-Man

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
 Any free time is spent with my fiancé (wife as of June 12) Amanda Raus.

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
 A very remote luxury island. I need to have a few days where I just stare at the ocean.

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
 Jerry Seinfeld

8. Do you collect anything?
 No

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
 I don't have an iPod. On my phone, it's "Ghost" by Ella Henderson, "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, and "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men.

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
 Hurricane Sandy, where my family lost a significant portion of their home.
