1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3... which I love because the screen is big and I have fat fingers. By far, my favorite app is Google Maps. Boring but incredibly useful, since I travel a lot. It has not once let me down. I also am addicted to Candy Crush Saga, I'm sorry to say.

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
Favorite: Weather, weather, weather... especially severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Weather is exciting!!

Least favorite: It's a tie between terrible tragedies involving children, for obvious reasons... and football. I just don't get the game.

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
I would be a professional musician. I have come to realize that music is probably the most powerful medium we have.

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
 The Simpsons. Still my favorite.

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
I'm kind of a gym rat. So some form of exercise... swimming and basketball are among my favorite activities. And PS: I kinda stink at both.

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Wine country in France. It's beautiful, I hear. Plus I love wine. And bonus... my 11 year old son speaks French so I figure he can be the lead dog as Daddy trolls the vineyards.

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
My father. He died a few years ago. It's like that Joni Mitchell/Counting Crows number: "Don't it always seem to go you don't know what you got til it's gone."

8. Do you collect anything?
Just memories. I don't have the personality for collecting objects. But I admire those who do. It takes commitment.

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
You Get What You Give by New Radicals
 Jazzman by Carole King
 VaVaVoom by Nicki Minaj

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?
"Success consists of going from failure to failure, without loss of enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Honestly, returning to local news after 5 years away. I had a few concerns going in... some centered around the role of technology in journalism. But what I've discovered... since starting at Fox25, is that news is news. No matter what platform it appears on, the basics of news remain the same: write well, communicate effectively, be honest and show some compassion for the people whose hardships you are covering.

Added bonus at 25: I am blessed with an incredibly supportive and positive newsroom. I am at a TV station where people are happy! That is so huge.
