Chris Emma has joined New England Cable News in Boston as an anchor and reporter. Starting immediately, Emma will be covering breaking news across New England and anchoring for the network.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chris Emma to the necn family,” said NECN vp of news, Kenny Plotnik. “Chris’s proven track record of chasing breaking news and connecting with viewers make him a perfect fit for our network.”

Chris joins NECN from WPBF-TV ABC 25, the Hearst Television station in West Palm Beach, FL, where he has been a weekend anchor and weekday reporter since 2011.

During his time in West Palm Beach, Chris covered stories such as the John Goodman case and the homecoming of badly-burned Stuart firefighter Jahwan McIntyre, and tracked Superstorm Sandy from Miami Beach.

Chris got his start at WBOC-TV CBS 16/FOX 21 in Salisbury, MD as a sports anchor, before he decided to switch to news. He has also interned at WSVN-TV in Miami.

A native of Morristown, NJ, Chris is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He later attended the University of Miami and received his Master's degree in broadcast journalism.
