Looking for a job in television news? WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston is beefing up their resources for the second time since Cox Media Group took over the station in October 2014.
It would seem as if the new positions listed indicate a launch of a weekend morning newscast. FOX 25 is the only news station in Boston, and the only FOX station that CMG owns, without one.
A representative from FOX 25 tells New England One, however, that this is not the case and the positions "are part of additional resources being added to our staff."
A few of the positions the station is currently hiring for are:
- Director
- Reporter
- Meteorologist
- Assistant Director
- Producer
- Full Time Photographer
- Anchor/Reporter
- Digital Content Manager
- Executive Producer of Investigative and Special Projects
Since CMG took over FOX 25, the resources of the station have substantially increased. When Fox Television Stations was the owner, they operation the news department with "skeleton resources."
The station has also seen success in its turn to hard news in the ratings. In the most recent May sweeps rating period, FOX 25 came took first place from 4am-5am; 7am-9am; and 10pm-11pm in adults 25-54.
