Audrey Washington will be joining WSB-TV ABC 2 in Atlanta as a reporter.
"This is a wonderful opportunity and I am beyond excited to join such an incredible news team" Audrey told New England One.
"I’m sorry to say that Audrey Washington is leaving NBC Connecticut" said WVIT VP of news Matt Piacente last week.
"Audrey has done some great work in the wee hours of the morning, and helped us expand our visibility all across New Haven and the shoreline" Piacente said. He continued "Audrey is looking forward to building her career, and exploring a new opportunity. We wish her well."
Audrey joined NBC CT from WJAR-TV NBC 10 in Providence, RI where she was a reporter. While at NBC 10, Audrey broke several news stories, including the Regency Plaza Kidnapping Case and the controversial release of convicted child murderer Michael Woodmansee. She also developed and reported on a special "Back to School: Survival Guide" series, featured on NBC 10 News and the "Today Show."
Before that, Audrey was a reporter at WSYR-TV ABC 9 in Syracuse, NY. While in upstate New York, Audrey reported on such stories as the Alan Jones murder trial and the 2009 Georgetown tornado.
Audrey has also worked as a reporter at WITN-TV NBC 7 in Greenville, NC; and at WRNN-TV in Kingston, NY. She has also worked behind the scenes at WNYW-TV FOX 5, Lifetime Television, MTV Networks and News 12 Long Island.
A native of Long Island, NY, Audrey is a graduate of Pace University in New York City.
After the harsh winter in New England, Audrey tells us that she is "looking forward to the warm weather!" She joins WSB later this month.
