"We are excited to announce that Kaitlyn McGrath is joining  NBC Connecticut as a First Alert meteorologist" station spokesperson Laura Gremelsbacker told New England One. She tells us that in addition to forecasting the weather on the weekends, Kaitlyn will also report during the week.

"This new opportunity will present a real challenge and help me continue to develop my skills" Kaitlyn said on her Facebook page. She also said that the move will "at the same time allow me to be closer to my family."

Kaitlyn joins NBC Connecticut from WCSC-TV CBS 5 in Charleston, SC where she has been a weather forecaster since starting her broadcasting career in January 2014.
