Brittany Decker is joining WVTM NBC 13 in Birmingham, Alabama as the weekend anchor, New England One has learned.
Brittany is currently the weekday morning anchor at WGGB ABC 40/FOX 6 and WSHM CBS 3 (Western Mass News) in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Brittany joined the First Warning weather team at WGGB in 2012, and in 2013 transitioned to news as the weekend morning anchor and a general assignment reporter. In 2015, she was promoted to weekday morning anchor at the station.
Prior to joining WGGB, Brittany worked at WTNH-TV ABC 8/WCTX-TV MyTV 9 in New Haven, CT where she won the 2011 "MyTV9 Star" competition. She spent a year as the "face" of MyTV 9 on-air, online and at community events. She also achieved the title of Miss Connecticut 2010, and participated in the national Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas. She has also interned at WWLP-TV during college.
When she is not busy with the news, Brittany is a band called "Smith & Decker," and performs acoustic favorites all over Western Massachusetts.
A native of Bristol, CT, Brittany is a 2011 graduate of Western New England University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in mass-media communications.
