Wren Clair is joining WHDH 7 in Boston as the weekday morning meteorologist, New England One has learned.

Wren Clair is joining WHDH 7 in Boston as the weekday morning meteorologist, New England One has learned.

"Wren loves the science of weather and can’t wait to start forecasting our challenging and ever-changing weather" said WHDH news director Linda Miele in an email to staff.

Wren joins WHDH from WJFW NBC 12 in Wausau, Wisconsin where she was most recently the weekday morning and midday meteorologist. She joined the WJFW team in August 2014 as a producer for the 5pm and 6pm newscasts while she trained to join the weather department. She was promoted to weekend weather forecaster and multimedia journalist in January 2015, and moved to weekday mornings in November 2015.

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Wren graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where she earned a Bachelor's degree in chemistry and cultural anthropology. In 2016, she earned another Bachelor's degree in atmospheric sciences and meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Wren has always been fascinated with earth and atmospheric science. Before joining WJFW, she worked in a variety of labs, including an organic synthesis lab, biomaterials and biomechanics lab, natural products lab. She also studied glacial analysis in the Swiss Alps.

Wren starts at WHDH at the end of the month.
