Beau Berman has joined Hearst Television's WTAE-TV ABC 4 in Pittsburgh, PA as a reporter.

"I'm both thankful and very excited to be able to share that tomorrow I begin a new chapter in my career as a reporter for WTAE-TV, Pittsburgh's Action News 4" Beau said on Sunday. "I'll miss my friends and colleagues in Connecticut very much, but I'm lucky to now be closer to my family, where I am needed."

This is good news for Beau who left Hartford's WTIC-TV FOX CT abruptly earlier this month. "It’s sad that I am announcing this, but due to a personal family issue I must leave Fox CT to return to my hometown of Pittsburgh" he said at the time.

Beau joins WTAE from FOX CT, where he had been the stations investigative reporter since 2011. During his time at FOX CT, he broke the story of Justina Pelletier, launching a national discussion about parental rights and medical/government intervention in 2013. He has also covered some of New England's biggest stories including Super-Storm Sandy, the Sandy Hook Tragedy and the Boston Marathon Bombing.

During most of his time at FOX CT, Beau has also been an adjunct Professor of Broadcast Journalism at Quinnipiac University in Hamden. He has also spent some of his free time volunteering with the Connecticut Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters program as a mentor.

Beau joined FOX CT from KOSA-TV CBS 7 in Midland, TX where he was a general assignment and investigative reporter. He has also been a production assistand and writer at WHVL-TV in State College, PA, and has interned at both WTAE-TV and KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh.

An award winning journalist, Beau was recognized three times with an Edward R. Murrow Award for his investigative reports. He has also been nominated for three New England Chapter Emmy's during his time in Connecticut. He’s also been recognized with multiple awards from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists and the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Beau is a 2008 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University in State College where he studied broadcast journalism and international studies.
