Alyana Gomez has joined KTVU FOX 2 in San Francisco, California as the weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter, New England One has learned.
She joins KTVU from WVIT-TV NBC Connecticut in Hartford where she had been the weekend morning anchor and a reporter since June 2015. A source tells New England One that NBC Connecticut let Alayna out of her three year contract early.
Before NBC Connecticut, Alayna worked at WJAX-TV CBS 47/WFOX-TV FOX 30 in Jacksonville, Florida where she was a general assignment reporter.
She was also the noon anchor and a reporter at WMDT-TV ABC 47 in Salisbury, MD, where she started her career in television news. While at WMDT, she won several Associated Press awards for Outstanding Enterprise Reporting, In-Depth Reporting, and Spot News. She also played a part in covering two hurricanes to hit the area. Before that, she was an intern at the Delmarva Daily Times in Salisbury.
A native of New Jersey, Alyana is a graduate of Salisbury University where she studied journalism.
