Steph Machado Joining WPRI as Reporter/MMJ

Steph Machado is joining WPRI-TV CBS 12/WNAC-TV FOX 62 in Providence, RI as a reporter/multimedia journalist, New England One has learned.

Steph joins WPRI from WFFF-TV FOX 44/WVNY-TV ABC 22 in Burlington, VT where she is currently a reporter. While in Burlington, she has served as the Statehouse reporter during Vermont's 4-month legislative session in addition to general assignment reporting. She started at WFFF/WVNY in 2013 as a weekend producer and weekday reporter, 6 months later she was promoted to full-time weekday reporter. She also occasionally appears as a panelist on "Vermont This Week," a roundtable show on Vermont PBS where reporters discuss the week's political headlines.

Prior to her time at WFFF/WVNY, Steph was a reporting intern at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, NY. She has also interned at ABC News in New York City; and WCVB-TV in Boston, MA.

A native of Ashland, MA, Steph graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013 from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University where she achieved dual Bachelor's degrees in broadcast journalism and Spanish. During her time in college, she was active with NCC News Online; and CitrusTV, the student-run TV station at Syracuse University.

Steph starts at WPRI on June 24.
