CVS Health, WPRI and their partner stations have joined forces for Community Heroes, a grant program that will provide $55,000 in grants to Rhode Island nonprofits that focus on health care, children, social services and military support.
The following ten nonprofits have been chosen to receive a $5,000 Community Heroes grant:
- Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Inc.

- The Groden Network
- Operation Stand Down RI
- Foster Forward
- Southside Community Land Trust

Now through June 10, you can let CVS know which of the ten organizations you think should receive a $5,000 bonus grant! Tweet to @CVSinAction with the name of the organization and #CommunityHeroes (only one tweet per person per day to @CVSinAction will be accounted for between June 1 and June 10.)
The selected organization will be announced live on the Rhode Show on June 15 on WPRI.
Erik Wallen from Operation Stand Down and Lisa Guillette from Foster Forward joined The Rhode Show Monday to discuss their organizations and how the grants will help, you can watch that clip below.
