Sports Director Kevin Nathan will co-anchor NBC Connecticut’s new 4 PM newscast alongside News Anchor Tara Joyce. Both will join First Alert Weather Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan for the new newscast, which debuts on Monday, June 13 at 4 PM ET.
In addition to their new roles, Nathan will continue to serve as Sports Director on weeknights at 6 PM and 11 PM, and Joyce will report at 11 PM on weeknights. Hanrahan will continue to deliver the forecasts for the 11 AM and 5 PM news programs.
NBC Connecticut also announced anchor changes to its weekday morning newscast. Heidi Voight will be leaving her position as traffic reporter to join Todd Piro as co-anchor of the station’s early morning newscast, which airs weekdays from 4:30 AM to 7 AM. They will be joined by First Alert Weather Meteorologist Bob Maxon. NBC Connecticut’s Live Desk Reporter Kate Rayner will provide First Alert Traffic reports until that role is filled.

NBC Connecticut’s new 4 PM newscast will deliver viewers the major local news developments of the day, including breaking news, weather, investigative and consumer reporting. With the launch of the new newscast, The Ellen DeGeneres Show will move to 3 PM and The Steve Harvey Show will air at 2 PM.
Today’s announcement reflects NBC Connecticut’s commitment to providing viewers with more of the local news, weather, investigative and consumer programming they want across multiple platforms. In addition to the new 4 PM newscast, NBC Connecticut has recently strengthened its Troubleshooters franchise, with the launch of NBC Connecticut Responds, the station’s consumer investigative unit, which answers every phone call and returns every email.
