Katie Thompson has joined Boston's WCVB ABC 5 as a reporter.
Katie joins WCVB from Hearst sister-station WMTW ABC 8 in Portland, Maine where she was most recently a weekend morning news anchor and a reporter.
She joined WMTW News 8 in May of 2013 as a general assignment reporter.
Born and raised in Kennebunk, Katie is thrilled to be back reporting in her home state of Maine.
Previously, Katie spent two years in Abilene, Texas working as a reporter and anchor for KRBC-TV. Before getting her start on air, Katie spent time behind the scenes as a production assistant in Boston.
A native of Kennebunk, Maine Katie studied broadcast journalism at Hofstra University in New York, where she had the privilege of working as a media assistant for the third and final 2008 Presidential Debate.
Katie started at WCVB this week.
