Kelly Ann Cicalese is joining WCVB's StormTeam 5 as a meteorologist for the weekend morning EyeOpener newscasts.
"We look forward to Kelly Ann joining WCVB's award-winning team of meteorologists," said Bill Fine, WCVB President and General Manager. "She is extremely talented and passionate about weather forecasting, and will make a great addition to StormTeam 5."
"Kelly Ann's depth of knowledge and experience reporting on severe weather conditions will compliment what is already the strongest team of meteorologists in the Boston Market," added WCVB News Director Andrew Vrees.
Kelly Ann comes to Boston from WSAZ-TV NBC 3, the leading television station for the Huntington-Charleston market in West Virginia where she's served as the weekday evening Meteorologist since December 2013. Previously, she was a part of the weather team at KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she was awarded "Best Weather Broadcaster" by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters. While in the Rocky Mountain region, she gained experience forecasting severe thunderstorms, tornado outbreaks, large snow storms and was involved in around the clock updates during the September 2013 flooding disaster in Colorado.
"It is such an honor to be joining StormTeam 5 at WCVB. I look forward to the challenge of forecasting in the Greater Boston area, and working alongside well respected Meteorologists in the industry," said Kelly Ann.
Kelly Ann is passionate about community involvement and often speaks at various social clubs and conducts kid-friendly weather experiments in local classrooms. In addition, she volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, helping to build homes for needy families.
Originally from New Jersey, Kelly Ann is a graduate of Rutgers University, earning a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. While at Rutgers, she was involved in the university's news program and was a member of the Rutgers Meteorology Club. She also received an Associates of Science in Mathematics from Middlesex County College in New Jersey.
Kelly Ann starts at WCVB on October 22.
