Danielle Gersh has joined KCBS 2 and KCAL 9 in Los Angeles as a weather anchor.

Danielle Gersh has joined KCBS 2 and KCAL 9 in Los Angeles as a weather anchor.

"Home sweet home... and here to stay!" she wrote on her Facebook page. "Thrilled to share I'll be joining the talented weather team at CBS Los Angeles/ KCAL 9 News! The opportunity to do what I love in my hometown surrounded by friends and family is truly a dream come true. I couldn't be more excited to get started next week and hope you'll all tune in!"

Danielle joins KCBS/KCAL from WHDH 7 in Boston where she was most recently the weekday traffic reporter and a weather anchor.

She joined WHDH in October 2015 from KESQ-TV ABC 3 in Palm Springs, California where she had been the weekend weathercaster and weekday reporter since 2013. KESQ is also the home of CBS, FOX, Telemundo & The CW on its digital sub-channels.

A native of Los Angeles, Danielle is a 2013 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she achieved a Bachelor's degree in convergence journalism. She is also currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in meteorology through Mississippi State University's online program.

Danielle has interned for the news and weather departments of KTVT-TV in Dallas, TX; and also spent time working in the weather department at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles. She has also spent time as an intern for fashion columnist Abby Gregory in Dallas; and at FishBowl Worldwide Media in Los Angeles.

While attending Southern Methodist, Danielle worked at SMU-TV as a weather caster and news anchor. During that time, she had the opportunity to cover the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas.
