Abbie Burke has joined WPRI CBS 12/WNAC FOX 64 (FOX Providence) in Providence, Rhode Island as a reporter.

Abbie joins WPRI from Nexstar sister-station KXRM FOX 21 in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she was an evening anchor and reporter.

Abbie started at FOX 21 as an intern in 2008, and later joined the station in 2009 as a producer, reporter and web editor. She left FOX 21 for a short period of time in 2012 to work at WLKY CBS 32 in Louisville, Kentucky, but rejoined FOX 21 as a reporter and anchor in March 2013. She also explored a different career as the Public Information Officer for Colorado Parks and Wildlife from 2013-2015. While it was a great experience, Abbie says she knows the news is where she belongs - and she returned to FOX 21 again in July 2015 as a weekend evening anchor and reporter. In August 2016, she moved to weeknights to solo anchor a new 5pm newscast and report for the 9pm and 10pm newscasts.

During her time at FOX 21, Abbie covered both the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest Fires, the capture of the Dougherty gang, the trial of former police officer Josh Carrier and the death of tow truck driver Allen Rose. While always eager to deliver the latest information, Abbie also enjoys covering stories that inspire, inform and build community. Abbie’s reporting and producing has earned her awards from the Colorado Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the Colorado Broadcasters Association.

A native of Pennsylvania, Abbie is a 2007 graduate of Penn State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in communication arts and sciences.

Abbie started at WPRI on April 26.
