NBC Boston (WBTS-LD) officially signed on at 3am before airing a repeat of its First Night Boston 2017 special. The station begins airing newscasts with NBC Boston Weekend Today at 5:30am, and airs its first NBC network program "Sunday Today with Willie Geist" at 8am.
WHDH did not run any special promo or ID for the switch, and was running a repeat of "Extra" at the time. WHDH airs its first post-NBC newscast at 8am with 7 News Today in New England.
