Juli McDonald has joined CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV as a general assignment reporter.

McDonald comes to WBZ-TV from WCVB ABC 5 where she spent a year as a freelance reporter.

She joined WCVB from WWLP NBC 22 in Springfield, Massachusetts where she had been an anchor and reporter for almost 4 years. At WWLP, Juli anchored the 5pm news and also reported for other newscasts from the field. While in Western Mass, she reported "from the White House, Copley Square the day of the marathon bombings and later throughout the trial, from the field at Gillette, and the lawn of the Capitol as Pope Francis spoke from the balcony." In 2015, she was named the "Top Woman in Television" in Western Mass Women Magazine's annual "Top 25 Women to Watch" list.

Prior to joining WWLP Juli was an anchor and reporter at KFYR NBC/FOX 5 in Bismarck, North Dakota, where she says "it was an exciting time to report in the Northern Plains; covering the impacts of the historic oil boom to the devastating summer flooding of 2011." She was the recipient of an AP Award in 2009, and also received an Emmy nomination for a show she anchored and produced about the floods in 2011.

Juli started her professional career at New England Cable News as a production assistant. She also spent time as an intern at WFXT FOX 25 in Boston.

A native of Norwood, MA, Juli is a 2009 graduate of Emerson College where she earned a Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.

Juli starts at WBZ on January 2.
