She will co-anchor with WCVB anchor/reporter Reid Lamberty. Berlie joins WCVB from KSDK in St. Louis where she has anchored "Today in St. Louis" weekday mornings since September 2013.
"Nichole is a talented journalist who has impressed us tremendously with her versatile reporting style and masterful storytelling. She will be a great asset to the NewsCenter 5 team," said Bill Fine, WCVB President and General Manager.
"Nichole has a natural ease and command on the anchor desk, in addition to a great sense of humor and easygoing style. We are excited to have her join our award-winning NewsCenter 5 team in September," said Andrew Vrees, WCVB News Director.
"I'm so excited to be joining the talented team at WCVB! The station is a powerhouse -- and so is the city itself," said Berlie. "I can't wait to tell the stories that make Boston such an amazing community."
Prior to joining the "Today in St. Louis" team, Nichole spent five years as a weekday morning anchor at Hearst's KETV-7 in Omaha, Nebraska. Nichole was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was in the Honor's Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting - with minors in mathematics, Spanish and English. She also earned a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University in New York.
In her free time, Nichole enjoys reading, working out, watching football, talk radio, cats, and spending time with friends and family – not necessarily in that order.
Nichole starts at WCVB on Wednesday, September 21.
