Anna Meiler has joined Boston's WBZ-TV CBS 4 as a freelance general assignment reporter, New England One has learned.

Anna joins WBZ from WNYT-TV NBC 13, the NBC-affiliated station in Albany, New York, where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor.

While in Albany, Anna covered stories that nabbed national spotlight such as the manhunt for convicted felons, Richard Matt and David Sweat, the arrest of a Boston police captain's son for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired attack, the arrests of several Word of Life Church members after a teen was beaten to death and the federal corruption cases against both state legislative leaders, Sheldon Silver and Dean Skelos.

Prior to working in Albany, Anna was a reporter for WKTV NBC 2 in Utica, New York. While at the station, Anna covered high-profile visits from President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and interviewed several high profile politicians. Anna also had the opportunity to interview Today Show members Natalie Morales and Jenna Bush Hager.

Anna began her journalism career here in her hometown of Boston as a web producer and news writer for WHDH-TV NBC 7. Anna played a significant role in the coverage of the hunt for the Boston Marathon bombers in April 2013.

Anna graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. She is also a member of the National Honor Society in Journalism and Mass Communication.

During her time in college, Anna interned at the national Fox News in New York City and served as a student correspondent for The Boston Globe. Over four years, she also worked her way from reporter to news director at the university’s student-run TV station, doubling the news team in her leadership role.
