Amaka Ubaka is joining Boston's WHDH NBC 7 as a reporter, the station has announced.

 

"I'm excited to announce that Amaka Ubaka is joining 7 News as a new reporter" announced WHDH news director Linda Miele in an email to staff. "She's very excited about coming to Boston."

Amaka comes to 7 News from WKMG CBS 6 in Orlando, Florida where she worked as a general assignment reporter from January 2013 to August 2015.

Prior to joining WKGM, Amaka was a general assignment reporter at WOWT NBC 6 in Omaha, Nebraska. Highlights of her time there include covering the NCAA College Baseball World Series and the 2012 Olympic Swim Trials.

Amaka started her professional career at KRCR ABC 7 in Redding, California as a general assignment reporter.

A native of Talahasee, Florida, Amaka is a graduate of the University of Miami where she earned a Bachelor's degree in communications and international studies.

Amaka starts at WHDH in a few weeks.
