Mark Curtis is no longer with WLNE-TV ABC 6 in Providence, RI he has announced.

Mark took to his Facebook page to make the announcement.

"As of today I am no longer with ABC6 News in Providence" he said.

He continued "As a 38-year media professional, I am available for work in all aspects of the communications business including: news, public relations, government affairs, lobbying, legislative relations and business communications. As many of you know, I also earned a Doctoral degree and am available to teach at the college level."

Mark had been with ABC 6 since January of 2010 and was an anchor and the stations chief political reporter. In addition to his work at ABC 6, Mark is also an Adjunct Professor at Rhode Island College. He also has his own freelance news reporting, public relations and political analysis agency Mark Curtis Media, which is a full service multi-media company.

Mark came to ABC 6 after a two-year break from broadcast news, during which he started his firm. Before that, he spent 9 years at KTVU-TV FOX 2 in San Francisco, CA as the morning anchor at the then Cox Media Group station. Well known in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mark currently contributes political analysis on KGO-TV ABC 7 and KGO Radio 810 AM.

Before joining KTVU-TV, Mark was the Washington, D.C. correspondent for Cox Television, and provided reports for all of their owned stations.

Mark has also worked at WEAR-TV in Pensacola, FL and WCJB-TV in Gainesville, FL. He also spent a year as a Congressional Fellow.

Mark is also a published author. His book, “Age of Obama: A Reporter’s Journey with Clinton, McCain and Obama in the Making of the President 2008” was released Inaugural week 2009 by Nimble Books, Inc.

Deeply into politics, Mark has covered nine U.S. Presidential campaigns, having started with the Carter-Reagan race in 1980. He covered the entire 2008 & 2012 Presidential campaigns, traveling the country with all of the candidates as a reporter and political analyst for numerous media outlets.

A native of Milwaukee, WI, Mark is a 1981 graduate of Marquette University, also in Milwaukee, where he attained a Bachelor's degree in broadcasting. Mark has also earned a Master's degree in mass communication from the University of Florida at Gainesville in 1986. In 2011, he completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at St. Mary’s College of California, in Moraga.
