Sarah Long is joining Portland, ME ABC affiliate WMTW-TV 8 as a weekend meteorologist.

"Thrilled to announce that my former partner in crime Sarah Long "Lings" will be joining our talented team of meteorologists at WMTW! Proud of all that she and her husband Tom have accomplished over the past few years at Long's Board Shop ...and I can't wait to see her fun loving personality back on the air!" said morning anchor Erin Ovalle on Facebook.

Sarah comes to WMTW from Maine State Credit Union where she was a spokesperson. She was also a game show host on CW affiliate WPXT, and owner of Long's Board Shop along with her husband.

"Thank you for the warm welcome back!... I will be covering your entire weekend - morning through evening. I'll be keeping you all up to date online through the week. This allows me to keep helping out around the shop, which Tom will be taking over" Sarah said on Facebook. She added "I am thrilled to be joining an amazing team!"

Previously, Sarah was the morning meteorologist at Portland CBS affiliate WGME for 10 years. She left WGME in 2012 to start a business with her husband. She has also worked for the American Meteorological Society, Barnes & Noble University as an instructor, Almanac Workshop, and was the Chief Meteorologist at Mount Washington Observatory.

Sarah is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and has earned both the Broadcast Seal of Approval and Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.

A native of Merrimac, MA, Sarah is a 1997 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.
