We first reported that Kate Rayner was leaving WFSB-TV in Hartford after her contract was not renewed last month.
NBC Connecticut has now announced that Kate is joining the station as a freelance reporter. She will be reporting for NBC CT news on weekend mornings and on some weekdays.
Before coming to NBC Connecticut, Kate was the morning reporter for WFSB Eyewitness News. Prior to WFSB, she worked as the South Carolina Bureau Chief for WJBF News Channel 6 in Augusta, Georgia.
Kate is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland, and attended high school in Connecticut at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich. She also studied abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Alcala and speaks Spanish.
