A deal between Cox Media Group and Verizon FiOS was reached late tonight, in a move that will bring WFXT-TV FOX 25 back to the FiOS lineup after a one week blackout.

"FOX 25 and Verizon FiOS have reached a new long-term agreement that will permit Verizon FiOS to bring back FOX 25" FOX 25 said in a statement.

FOX 25 also offered an apology to its FiOS viewers saying "We apologize to our viewers for any disruption that this dispute caused, and we thank Verizon FiOS for its willingness to continue working with FOX 25 to reach an agreement that is favorable for both companies and all of our viewers. FOX 25 is very pleased to be back on Verizon FiOS."

Verizon released a statement saying that they are in the process of returning programming to Verizon FiOS customers in Boston, MA and Providence, RI.

"Our new agreement with Cox Media includes reasonable rates and other terms and conditions that are in the best interest of our customers. We regret the inconvenience the service interruption may have caused you, and we appreciate your patience and loyalty. Thank you!"

FOX 25 went dark on FiOS at 3am Thanksgiving morning as tense negotiations continued to reach a deal.

In a separate retransmission case, CBS has set a deadline of Thursday to reach a deal with Dish Network. If a deal is not reached, CBS will pull their stations from Dish which include WBZ and WSBK in Boston.
