WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston severed one more tie to the former owner of the station, Fox Television Stations. Gone is the Fox standard graphics package, and the Fox standard logo.

The station took the wraps off of their new logo and graphics package on the 5pm newscast on Tuesday, a little over a year after Cox Media Group took over the station. The only things similar to the old package are the colors red and blue. The new package has a flatter look then the old Fox package, which is still in use on FTS owned and operated stations, and is more "Cox" then "Fox". The station has also changed the news music, although some old bumper music was accidentally left in for the launch.

The graphics are a Cox standard package, in use at other Cox stations like WFTV-TV ABC 9 in Orlando, FL. The new music is "Impact" by 615 Music.

This change marks the latest attempt made by Cox to re-brand the station to reflect the company's philosophy on hard news. The station has gone through many changes since Cox took over the station in October 2014, including adding a lot of resources to their news department. The biggest changes recently were the addition of a weekend morning newscast, and the departure of long-time anchor Maria Stephanos.

Take a look at the images below, and watch the 5pm newscast open.
