Boston's WCVB ABC 5 has won eight National Headliner Awards for outstanding journalism in its news division and website.

WCVB swept the Newscast category, taking first, second and third place and was awarded first and second place in Breaking News and a third place win in both Continuing Coverage and Investigative Coverage. WCVB’s station website, wcvb.com, also won first place in the local affiliate website category.

Presented by the Press Club of Atlantic City, the annual contest is one of the oldest and largest annual award contests in the country recognizing journalistic merit across the communications industry. WCVB is the only New England television station to be honored in this year's 83rd annual awards.

Founded in 1934 by the Press Club of Atlantic City, the National Headliner Awards program is one of the oldest and largest annual contests recognizing journalistic merit in the communications industry. The first National Headliner Awards were presented in 1935.
