Emmy award-winning journalist Lorenzo Hall is joining Tribune Broadcasting's WTIC-TV FOX 61 in Hartford, CT as an anchor and reporter, the station has announced.

Lorenzo will co-anchor the FOX CT News at 4pm news alongside Jenn Bernstein, and also report for other newscasts.

Lorenzo joins FOX CT from Tribune sister-station WTVR-TV CBS 6 in Richmond, VA, where he is currently the 5pm & 5:30pm anchor. He also serves as an Investigative Reporter for CBS 6 News.

“Lorenzo’s anchoring and reporting skills will be put to good use here at FOX CT,” said Mark Oxton, interim General Manager, FOX CT. “We produce 9 and a half-hours of local news a day and adding Lorenzo to our team, a seasoned, solid journalist, will add to our extensive coverage of our great state.”

During his time in Richmond, Lorenzo has reported on a wide range of stories, including the inauguration of President Barack Obama, all-access with Governor Bob McDonnell, 2011’s East Coast earthquake and he’s also flown though a hurricane multiple times aboard a P-3 hurricane hunter aircraft.

Lorenzo says his most memorable assignment while in Central Virginia centers around a Richmond teen, who lived in a homeless shelter with his mother and sister. That story got the attention of Richmond City Council members, forcing them to rethink their approach to funding for the homeless.

Prior to joining WTVR, Lorenzo served as general assignment reporter and weekend evening anchor at KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. He also worked as a political reporter for one of the nation's top-rated NPR affiliates, KBIA-FM.

A native of Washington, D.C., Lorenzo is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri's School of Journalism. At Mizzou, Lorenzo spent a portion of his last semester touring Europe to study journalism practices in Belgium, France, Italy and Germany.

Lorenzo has also interned at WRC-TV NBC 4 and WUSA-TV CBS 9, both in the Washington, D.C. area. He began his media career in high school as a correspondent for BET's award-winning talk show, “Teen-Summit.”

“I’m incredibly blessed to have had the privilege of working with Richmond’s best team of journalists. Without question, I will deeply miss my WTVR family, but I’m extremely excited about this new challenge and opportunity at WTIC in Hartford,” Lorenzo said in a statement.

Lorenzo leaves WTHR at the end of March, and starts at FOX CT on April 6.
