WCVB Channel 5 continues its long run as Boston's news leader, with one day remaining in the November sweep, capturing a "Total Viewer" win in all local newscasts. WCVB easily bests its competition with wins across the board in Total Viewers 2+ and Persons 18+. NewsCenter 5 also dominates with Persons 25-54, winning five out of seven major local weekday newscasts (5A, 6A, 5P, 6P and 11P).

"WCVB's primary focus is to consistently deliver the best, most in-depth reporting for our viewers on each and every story," said Bill Fine, WCVB President and General Manager. "The November ratings show that in this competitive market, more viewers turn to WCVB as their go-to source for local news."

WCVB is the clear station of choice for Bostonians who want to get an informative jump start on their day. The "WCVB advantage" kicks into high gear in the mornings as Channel 5’s EyeOpener dominates the daypart, delivering roughly double the audience of each of its competitors in Households and Total Viewers 2+.

NewsCenter 5 at 12N with Erika Tarantal and Emily Riemer continues its top rated performance in Total Viewers 2+ with a 40% advantage over its nearest competitor, WBZ.

WCVB NewsCenter 5 continues its advantage in the evening and late news time periods. In Total Viewers 2+, WCVB beats its nearest competitors by significant margins: +97% over WHDH at 5P, +80% over WHDH at 6P, and +27% over WBZ at 11P.

NewsCenter 5 at 5 with JC Monahan and Phil Lipof and NewsCenter 5 at 6 with Heather Unruh and Ed Harding were the two "highest rated" news broadcasts in the market in Total Viewers 2+.

WCVB's ratings dominance extended into prime time in November as WCVB's coverage of the Massachusetts/New Hampshire election on Tuesday, November 4, from 8-10P, beat each competitive station by more than double and all three stations combined.  WCVB's "Commitment 2014 Election Coverage" ruled the night, sometimes doubling or tripling regularly scheduled network programming from 8-10 p.m. on WBZ, WHDH and WFXT in Households, Total Viewers and the key Adults 25-54 demographic.  In head to head "election coverage" from 10-11 p.m., WCVB attracted more Adults 25-54 than all three competitors combined with minimum +157% advantage over the nearest competitor, WHDH.
