1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
 Personal: iPhone 6
 Work: iPhone 5c

Spotify is hands-down my most-used app. I’m always on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
Favorite topic: Sign me up for any story revolving around a person/group that takes you on a roller-coaster of emotions and in the end inspires me to be a better person.

 Least favorite topic: car accidents

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
Trying to launch a cooking show. It would be a dream come true to cook up a storm all over the world, meeting people and experiencing different cultures through food.

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
Didn’t watch too much TV. My brother and I spent hours outside as kids playing street hockey, wiffle ball or just running around crazy.

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Cranking up music, walking around Boston or cooking up a new dish between the continuous visits with family and friends. I was away from home for years so I make sure to squeeze in as much time enjoying good company now that I’m back in my hometown.

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Outer space. It’s fascinating that some really smart people figured out how to put people up there. I can’t imagine the thrill that comes with space travel, plus it would really cool to see the earth from that perspective.

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
Oprah. And hopefully she would bring Gayle. She is self-made, has met some of the most influential people and looks like she would have a good time at dinner. Since I have a huge family that refuses to miss out on anything, they’d all be invited, too.

8. Do you collect anything?
 Nope.

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
Impossible to say. Cecilia and the Satellite by Andrew McMahon for the drive into work. Dean Martin/Frank Sinatra while cooking dinner, and anything by Blondie!

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?
"This bridge will only take you halfway there, the last few steps you’ll have to take alone." - Shel Silverstein

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Making it through the morning show [one day in September] without coffee because I didn’t have time to stop on my way into the station!

Actually, it would be seeing my cousin Casey finish up high school this year. Casey is 18 and has Down syndrome. His love for life amazes me. Watching him grow into a fantastic young man who hasn’t let anyone or anything get him down is inspiring. He takes on whatever comes his way and usually does it with a smile on his face. Seeing that keeps me balanced, in check and realistic about what goes on in my life. Seeing him grow over the years, I realized there’s probably someone else having a tougher day than I am; reminding me not to take anything for granted and put forth my greatest effort, always with a smile.
