Danielle Gersh is joining WHDH-TV NBC 7 in Boston as a traffic reporter for 7 News Today in New England, New England One has learned.
"I'm very excited to announce that Danielle Gersh will be joining 7 News as an on-air traffic reporter for Today in New England" WHDH news director Linda Mielle said in an internal email.
In addition to her morning traffic duties, Danielle will be also be involved in the weather coverage at noon with meteorologist Jeremy Reiner.
Danielle comes to WHDH from KESQ-TV ABC 3 in Palm Springs, CA where she had been the weekend weather caster and weekday reporter since 2013. KESQ is also the home of CBS, FOX, Telemundo & The CW on its digital sub-channels.
A native of Los Angeles, Danielle is a 2013 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she achieved a Bachelor's degree in convergence journalism. She is also currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in meteorology through Mississippi State University's online program.
Danielle has interned for the news and weather departments of KTVT-TV in Dallas, TX; and also spent time working in the weather department at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles. She has also spent time as an intern for fashion columnist Abby Gregory in Dallas; and at FishBowl Worldwide Media in Los Angeles.
While attending Southern Methodist, Danielle worked at SMU-TV as a weather caster and news anchor. During that time, she had the opportunity to cover the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas.
Danielle starts at WHDH in October.
