Christiane Cordero has been promoted from investigative producter to investigative reporter at WVIT-TV NBC Connecticut in Hartford. Dubbed the "NBC Connecticut Troubleshooters," it is Connecticut's largest investigative team.

"I'm officially official!" Christiane said on Facebook, "Thanks to my incredible mentors, a little bit of luck and a lot of elbow grease, I'm stepping up as NBC Connecticut's newest INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER!"

While her stories range anywhere from data protection to buyer beware, Christiane is especially interested in issues related to technology, education reform and social justice.
Christiane is a member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors, which is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of investigative reporting.

Christiane started at WVIT in August 2013, and has researched, produced and written more than 20 investigations as a news associate. She also helped produce several other stories including a piece on DUI hotspots, which earned recognition from national organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

In addition to her experience at WVIT, Christiane has interned at KYSR radio in Los Angeles, CNN in Atlanta, and WNCT-TV in Greenville, NC.

A native of California, Christiane is a 2013 graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where she studied communications.
