Patrick Crawford, the morning meteorologist for KCEN-TV NBC 6 in Temple, TX, was shot multiple times in the stations parking lot this morning.

The Temple Department of Public Safety said the shooting suspect exchanged words with Crawford before pulling out a semi-automatic handgun and firing.

Crawford, a morning show meteorologist at the station for the last two years, managed to drive away and flag down a construction worker, who called for help.

Police are still searching for the suspect, described as a white male, 30-35 years old, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and dark jeans. Wilson also said he has a receding hairline.

Crawford was taken to Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, where he was undergoing surgery late Wednesday morning, Wilson said.

UPDATE: KCEN is reporting that Crawford is out of surgery and in stable condition. They also say that the suspect hasn't been located, but they took a suspect in custody and police say he's not likely tied at all to the shooting.
