Jeff Barnd is leaving WBFF-TV FOX 45 in Baltimore to become a National Correspondent for WBFF parent company Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Barnd announced this move on his Facebook page on Monday.

"I just wanted our viewers to know... I'll be leaving FOX 45 at the end of this month... to take a job as "National Correspondent for Sinclair Broadcast Group" in Washington DC" he said.

"I am SO honored to have had so many years in my adopted hometown, working for such a storied company."

Barnd helped start the "News at Ten" on WBFF in 1991 and left in 1995 to join WLVI-TV 56 in Boston, MA. He anchored the weeknight "Ten O'Clock News" with Karen Marinella until 2003, when he left to rejoin WBFF as a main anchor.

"What began as a simple 'start-up' FOX news operation in '91 has grown by leaps and bounds, and sitting at the FOX 45 Anchor Desk each and every day for 16 years has been among the most MARVELOUS JOURNEYS I've ever had in my life" Barnd said.

A 12-time Emmy Award winner, Jeff has also won numerous Associated Press awards and statewide honors in Maine, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Maryland. In 1998, Jeff garnered an Emmy for "Boston's Best Anchor." In 2000, for "Best Host in Boston." Jeff has three Emmys for news writing. Recently, Jeff garnered an Emmy for his editorials in the program "American Crossroads," which aired nationwide.

In addition to his time at WBFF & WLVI, Barnd was also a news anchor at WGME-TV in Portland, ME. He has also worked as a general assignment reporter for television stations in Philadelphia & Wilkes-Barre, PA and Bangor, ME.
