First on New England One, Kerry Kavanaugh is joining WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston as an investigative reporter.

Kerry comes to FOX 25 from Cox Media sister station WSB-TV ABC 2 in Atlanta, GA where she was most recently a general assignment reporter since 2013. She joined WSB in 2010 as a reporter for the morning news, and in 2011 was promoted to take over the station's Gwinnett County bureau.

Previously, Kerry was an anchor/reporter at Scripps station WFTS-TV ABC 28 in Tampa, FL where she covered Florida politics and consumer issues. Kerry, along with her husband Jason Solowski (a photographer at WFTS,) and fellow reporter Karen Castillo departed WFTS over a fake report which later hit the Internet and went viral. The spoof report was made for the birthday of a female photographer at the station, and was about her being revealed as one of golfer Tiger Woods’ many alleged mistresses.

Kerry has also been a reporter at Tribune's WHO-TV NBC 13 in Des Moines, IA, and at Cowles' KWYB-TV ABC 18 in Butte, MT where she started her on-air television career.

Her first job out of college was at WBZ-TV in Boston, MA where she was a television sales traffic coordinator, and a internship program manager. Prior to that, she was also an intern at WBZ News.

A native of Boston, Kerry is a 2000 graduate of Boston College where she studied communications and minored in Spanish.

Kerry is expected to start at FOX 25 in 2015.

Welcome home, Kerry!
